Off Topic: Distinguished Honor Grad

My son, John, got Distinguished Honor Graduate (first in his class) at his AIT graduation today.
And a promotion to Private First Class.
And this was just him having some fun.

I am quite proud of him but not real surprised. I have some good kids and all of them have always done well in school and worked hard.  I am so glad that he has found something that he is good at and that he likes. I hope he will continue to like it when he so far away from us next week at Ft. Hood, Texas.

  1. Congratulations to your son! My oldest is a Cpl in the army. He was in Ft Knox, KY. which was a long ways from home. Now he's at Ft Stewart, Ga which is much closer. He can come home for the weekend. It is such a blessing when they find something they like and can excel in. Congratulations to you too mom. Your hard work is paying off:-)

  2. My oldest, Buddy, is in Germany but about to be stationed in Kentucky. John is my younger son. He broke his ankle his third day in Basic, had surgery and months of rehab so this has been a very long time coming for him.
What is a CPL? I looked it up and there are 10 different things in the military that it could mean, lol?
