Yes I promise I won't turn the whole blog will not turn into "my pretty flowers" but I am stuck home sick today but had to get up and walk out to feed the chickens anyway (because they have to be fed-sick or not) and took these three pictures on the way so I could do this post. However, I am not going to walk down to the garden to get pictures of the herbs I planted yesterday(sage, oregano and thyme) or get out to the front greenhouse to show you how I had to add dirt all the way to the top of the potato containers (also yesterday) because they have grown so much or how the lettuce is growing in its little containers. You'll have to wait on those photos until I feel better. You're just going to get the tulips again today. More have opened up and all the yellow ones are open.
The tulips on the other side of the fountain are just now getting buds. I guess the fountain shades them some because I planted them all at the same time.
I have GOT to get more tulips next year!
It was a scary evening for us as one of my sons is stationed at Ft. Hood but he is was not hurt in the shooting there yesterday. Prayers to all those who weren't as lucky as we were.
Hi Becky! So sorry you're not feeling well! I'm in the same boat! So glad your son was not injured in the shooting! Yes, prayers to the families of those who were! Seeing your pretty blooms help me feel better, at least for the moment! I love the yellow tulips! I guess yellow is my favorite color! The animals have to be cared for in spite of our feelings! Hope you get well soon! Blessings from Bama!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon...can't wait to see more pictures of the garden.
ReplyDeleteI am much better now. Got pills for my allergies that don't mess with my heart. The pollen is always terrible here. Too many farms growing pines here.
DeleteGlad to hear your son is OK. (my son was in Desert Storm and you worry every minute of everyday) I feel it is long past time especially since the last Fort Hood killing that the panty wearing generals don't march into CONgress and tell CONgress they are ordering all soldiers to carry a side arm at all times and if they don't like it they will put all those CONgressmen on a plane to GITMO for a permanent vacation.
ReplyDelete(sorry I guess I'm just grumpy about this lack of leadership)
Phil actually went to Saudi Arabia but both my sons went to Afghanistan. It was a very scary time for both. When they get home you expect them to be safe...shame that isn't always the case.
DeleteBecky,
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear your son is okay with all of this going on at Ft. Hood. Sending prayers to all military families of Ft Hood.
I hope you feel better soon, I'm looking forward to more of your pictures.
Your tulips are very pretty.
Blessings from another military family,
Sandy
Thanks Sandy!
DeleteHi Becky, I'm so glad your son is OK and I'm so sad for the families who are suffering. Thank you for the pictures. Sometimes looking at beauty is just what we need. The other day I was on the bus next to a man who was looking very anxious about how crowded the bus was and how slow it was going. I took a second to point out the very lovely crescent moon over the city skyline and we talked a bit about how beautiful it was, and he visibly relaxed. I hope I helped make his day better. Looking at your photos helps my day get better, too!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you helped make his day better. I am like that a lot too. I can see when someone just needs a little pick-me-up and I try to give it if I can :)
