It is a lot bigger and heavier than I thought it would be. Poor Michelle, they dropped it off on the porch and she had to wrestle this thing through the door. She has not exactly built up a lot of muscles typing on her computer.( She also got the lemon tree outside to the porch to get some sun today and then brought it back in when it started to rain.).
I, of course, have not turned on the smoker yet but I am impressed with how sturdy the thing seems already. Can't wait to try smoking something! Need to read a bit more about it first though.
I bought it from Amazon, $179 with free shipping.
Color me jealous!!! Please post all about it when you start using it. We've always wanted one, and probably will put one at the farm later on, but for now, I'll have to live vicariously through someone else, ha.
ReplyDeleteSeems a small price to pay if it works as well as you expect. Looking forward to hearing how you get on!
ReplyDeleteBecky, Becky, Becky, I was expecting an old refridgerator turned smoker LOL. It looks nice though. Have fun smoking everything.
ReplyDelete1stMan, I didn't even know they had these until my brother-in-law got one for Christmas and then I was the jealous one!
ReplyDeleteMark, I hear they have their issues but I am hoping to turn out at least a nice pork butt or some sausage before I have to tackle something like bacon.
John, I have seen those kinds of smokers but by some miracle we don't have any refrigerators hanging around right now.
Refrigerator smokers that was the rage in the 90's lol I haven't seen one of those in a while. I really love smoked meats pork my favorite also tossing on a few chickens is very good eats for sure. I am excited for you enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI believe it will be chicken that I do first. I have spent hours this morning collecting up information so that I can smoke SOMETHING this weekend and I think it is going to be chicken first. Provided I can find a thermometer with a probe and the wood chips/pellets whatever.
ReplyDeleteNice. BTW, love your header picture.
ReplyDeleteI too look forward to your results! IMHO bacon is easier than sausage...
ReplyDeleteThanks Stephen!
ReplyDeleteDavid, I am still trying to learn about cures. I bought some prague powder #1 but won't try anything too ambitious until I feel like I know what I am doing.

ReplyDeletenice post with great images.
ReplyDeleteActually the pictures make it look kind of short and it is taller than that. I should have squatted down and taken a picture straight on and I could have opened it and showed you how nice it looks inside. That will have to wait for a future post now.
ReplyDeletetickled for you, Becky!
