Almond Waffles

You may see a lot of waffle posts on here. I make them every couple of weeks and then freeze whatever is left and each timeI try to do something different. This week we ended up with almond waffles because the bottle of almond extract in the cupboard was the only thing I could find to add. This makes a big batch (there are about twice as many as in the picture because I took the picture while I was still cooking).

4 eggs
4 cups flour
3 1/2 cups milk
1 cup oil
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 tsp. salt
8 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
water

Mix it all together. If it is too thick add a little water. Cook on your waffle iron.

These were pretty good. There is just a hint of almond and it is really a nice flavor to put with syrup.

  2. Humm, will have to check my cupboard and see if the kids used up all that strawberry syrup! I think they like it better now when the strawberry jam doesn't jell. They used the strawberry "syrup" for strawberry milk. Though I have to admit, I have had my share of strawberry milk as well, lol.
