Today's Harvest 3/13

Yeah, I know cabbage and spinach ...again.. but I'll take as much of it as I can get from my little garden and will be pleased that I got it. There is plenty of lettuce out there for a salad but I won't have time to make a salad in the morning until Thursday. Perhaps we'll have another harvest post then.
It was rather nice to have it be still light when I got home from work so that I could harvest these though.

  1. Your cabbage and spinach looks great. I love cabbage so much, need to have it every day in one form or another!

  2. That cabbage is beautiful...I regret not being able to get my little seedlings in the ground in time. I found a recipe on line for canning cole slaw/ People who can it swears it stays crunchy!

    1. It does at least for about a year, then it starts to loose its crunchiness. I does have a different taste than fresh coleslaw but in my way of thinking it it better. I might have a post on it. I can't remember. But in the picture on this blog, the jars with the cabbage and red bits in it are the canned coleslaw.

  4. There is nothing wrong with lots of cabbage and spinach! I wish I could actually grow things in my yard. Too much ledge and not enough sun...

  6. I wouldn't apologise for having a good supply of cabbage and spinach either. The fancy stuff is all very well, but you still need the basics.

    1. Spring is the time when I don't miss the fact that we hardly ever get snow.

  8. I’m in mourning after just losing my last two baby Cavolo Nero cabbages which I had nurtured all through the winter. One day they were there and the next they had flopped over and were half eaten. I think it was a warm day which had brought out the slugs and they seized on my poor cabbages as the nearest tasty snacks...
