Good Day

And then I came home to this:

I am so sick of snakes this year! I had a heck of a time getting him out of that cage and then the area in front of the cage is very small but he didn't get away. This one was in one of the quail cages and I only lost one quail to him.

  1. I don't know what they are really called, just a plain old black chicken snake. I sure they are edible but after I wack the hell out of it with a hoe, I have no inclination to eat the thing, lol.

  2. I've seen people put up those plastic owls to keep snakes away. Have you tried that? I wonder if it would work.

  4. It's a black rat snake, also known as a black chicken snake. Thankfully it isn't poisonous, but I still would not like to come upon one by surprise! Yeesh. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantherophis_obsoletus
