Ham

I just wanted to show off our Christmas ham. I wish I could send out samples so you all could taste how perfect it was. Normally my hams are a little dry but this one was wonderful.
It cured for about 3 weeks and was in the smoker on 250 for about 6 hours. It was a pretty big ham and we were pleased that it was done so quickly. The rest of the meal was great too though we cooked way too much as usual.
Hope you all had as nice a Christmas as we had!

    1. Yes, this is from the 365 lb pig and we cut those hams in thirds.

    1. It really was the best one I have done so far. I feel lucky to know what real food tastes like now. Not sure I will be able to go back to store bought...ever!

  4. Fabulous-looking ham. I love the slightly crispy bits on the outside. We're having roast ham today, but not a home-produced one I'm afraid. Ours will be served with a creamy parsley sauce.

    1. Crispy and nicely smoky because it was smoked with plum wood.
