I was wrong...
it wasn't the quail hatching first, it was the bantam chicks. I got 8 from this batch. I still hear peeping in the incubator so I don't think the quail are too far behind.
Only just found your blog and I absolutely love it! There are so many interesting things! Canned turkey! Not that familiar with that over here in this neck of the woods but it was very interesting.
I love all your pictures, especially in this post, the bantams are so cute.
Good luck with your quest to self-sufficiency. It is my goal too! Hope my blog will be as useful to others as yours has been to me!
That's a shame - each one of those looks to me like a tasty morsel! (only kidding...they are very cute)
ReplyDeleteWell, they do grow bigger than quail and I am sure, in a pinch, they might make a good soup, lol.
ReplyDeleteThey look so cute, Rebecca. I didn't even read your posts about your meat chickens...couldn't bring myself to look...what a wimp!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't that bad. I forgot to take pictures of the actual butchering, lol.
ReplyDeleteYou sure have your hands full! Congrats on the new additions!
